The seminary choir will visit Byzantine
Catholic parishes in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC over a three-week period.
At each
location, the group will present a concert of sacred music according to the singing tradition of the Carpathian Mountains
of eastern Slovakia and southwestern Ukraine. Each concert will include a combination of liturgical selections
and hymns in Church Slavonic. The concerts are free and open to the public, and free-will donations at each concert
will be sent to support the Seminary. Divine Liturgies in Church Slavonic are also scheduled at many parishes along
the tour. Consult the overall schedule to see which parish will be a stop on the tour, and then consult the local parish
for details.
Recordings of Marian Hymns, Christmas
Carols, Lent and Paschal Hymns, Choral Arrangements from the Divine Liturgy, as well as cpmplete litrugies of St. John Chrysostom,
St. Basil, Presanctified Gifts and Daily Vespers will be available for purchase for further fund raising.
Additional donations can be sent to: Seminary Concert
Tour, PO Box 192, Fairfax, VA 22038 with checks made payable to "Orientale Lumen Foundation." The OL Foundation
is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) charitable organization and any donations are tax deductible. All net proceeds from the
tour will be sent directly to support the seminary in Uzhorod. In some locations, additional events will be scheduled
– liturgies, parish dinners, receptions, etc. – with the choir members so that parishioners and seminarians may
have an informal exchange of their faith and traditions.
